I guess the move to Jhb is going to be a permanent one. I signed an offer to purchase a duplex a week and a half ago, and got finance approved yesterday. So hopefully sometime soon the transfer goes through and I can finally live in my own place. (click read more for pics)
I was there again today to take measurements in the kitchen, cos I don't think there's enough space for both my washing machine and dishwasher, so I'll probably have to have the cupboards moved. That will probably involve redoing most of the kitchen because I doubt they'd be able to just move one set of cupboards a bit to the side. So while I was there I took lots of pictures of the whole place. Lots of them focus on the kitchen, cos I'll need to think about what to do there. The rest are so mum finally knows what I've bought. So I figured instead of just emailing them home, I'd put them up here, which gives me an excuse not to post an update again for a while!
Turning left, we have the kitchen.
The washing machine spot in the kitchen. This needs to be widened to fit the dishwasher as well
Just to the right of the washing machine spot is the sink
Then there's a weird space, and some drawers, and another weird space, and the stove
The stove, and some countertop
Cupboards above the stove
Some more countertop
Place for the fridge
Next to the kitchen is the dining room

The kitchen opens to the dining room
First bedroom opposite the kitchen/dining room
Bedroom 1
Bathroom 1 - the shower is behind the door
Next to the dining room is the lounge
Lounge and balcony
More of the lounge, where the tv will probably go - the balcony is on the right of this picture
The back end of the lounge, and entrance to bedroom 2... plus a bit of the stairs going up. The balcony is on the left of this picture
The side of the lounge next to the dining room. The balcony is behind me.
There's a balcony that leads out from the lounge.
The balcony outside the lounge is quite a mess right now because they're in the middle of renovating and repainting the complex. But I took a picture anyways. There's a washing line here.
The second bedroom has a door that leads out to the balcony.
View from the balcony

Inside the second bedroom.
Doors going to the balcony, and a window
A bit of the room itself, and the bathroom

Upstairs!
At the top of the staircase, looking into the 3rd bedroom
Another picture just like the last one
Just to the left of that, a bit of the loft
The other end of the loft, aka Pool Table Goes Here. The lounge is below and to the left... the staircase is on the other side of the railing
More of the loft
Those are some nice windows, just above the sliding door that leads to the balcony from the lounge.
Looking down on the lounge from the loft
Bedroom number 3
Little windows that look over the lounge and loft

Another balcony!

Even more of the view
Bedroom and loft from outside, plus my sexy reflection
It's a pretty big balcony (which will be painted)
The balcony is the width of the bedroom and bathroom
I can check out the visitors cars from here
And finally
Some of the units have already been repainted - that's the colour scheme.
Before you ask, yes, I live alone, and no, I probably don't need this much space. And I won't use all three bathrooms much either. But they'll definitely come in handy when my parents come over to visit.
Assuming I have any money left over after doing what needs to be done in the kitchen, I'll get a dining room table, and hopefully get a pool table that will go in the loft. Kickass.
